Long hair that is worn down will work well with gowns that have low necklines such as plunging necklines and tube dresses. Flowing dresses or those that have soft and wispy materials will also work well with long hair that is worn down. It is important to remember to continue the silhouette from the top to the bottom. If you have a flowy material for your gown, then you will have to wear your hair down. On the other hand if your gown has stiff materials, then you can sweep your hair in an updo.

Do a braid.

One of the classic hairstyle that you can probably do with a long hair is the braid. You can braid you hair and wear it long or wear it in a chignon much like what Drew Barrymore did in the movie Ever After. A braid lends a more elegant and “royal” feel to the hairstyle.

Chignons and French buns

One of the classic updos that are done with long hair is the chignon and the French buns. This can appear severe so make sure that your hair is not so tightly held. Leave tendrils of your hair loose. Another thing that you can do is to use some really great hair accessories to lessen the severity of the buns and to make this simple hairstyle appear elegant.
